SAM is providing utility coordination for this design-bid-build project north of Austin, Texas. The project includes managed toll lanes by the introduction of main lanes in the existing median. Many utilities are located within the median and include old easements left by the previous roadway project. Our team coordinates the subsurface utility engineering and works closely with the roadway design engineers to identify alternatives to utility relocations to save time and money. The SAM team has drafted the utility relocation agreements used by CTRMA on design-bid-build projects and will negotiate the terms with each utility owner.
