TxDOT U.S. 290 Program, Houston District Project
Houston, Texas
SAM was selected to lead a team providing CEI services for nine separate segments of this corridor. With a construction cost of $1.2 billion and a duration of more than three years, the SAM team is providing inspection of multiple bridges, retaining walls, earthwork, and drainage systems, as well as concrete and hot mix asphalt paving. Additionally, we are providing management of traffic control, environmental compliance, stormwater pollution, utility coordination, and scheduling support. SAM has created a single dashboard with our web-based software that allows automated workflows to efficiently control daily activities, document work progress, and verify compliance with State and Federal requirements, while at the same time providing direct access to TxDOT and pertinent stakeholders in a real-time, cloud-based system. This system enables improved communication and coordination between all stakeholders on the project.
SAM was able to quickly deploy numerous engineers, inspectors, materials testing technicians, and other project support staff for the project. Our ability to quickly ramp up to meet the needs of the client is part of what sets SAM apart from other firms. We also bring a strong commitment to training and certifying staff, with an inspection staff that is versatile and capable of inspecting and testing all construction activities.
