SAM Awarded Contract to Provide Multiple Geospatial Services for Solar Project

April 21, 2022

SAM has been awarded a contract by one of the largest renewable companies in the country to provide a range of geospatial services for a solar project in South Texas. SAM will conduct a boundary and topographic survey for over 5,500 acres of land for this 500MW solar project. In addition, our crews will perform underground utility investigations and negotiate agreements for all utilities on the site.

SAM Senior Project Manager Chris R. Garza, RPLS, said, “We look forward to assisting our client in adding more clean and sustainable power to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) grid. Diversifying Texas’s means of power generation will provide more stability in the coming years, especially as battery storage technology continues to improve. ”

SAM was selected because of our years of expertise contributing to the success of renewable projects across the country and the speed at which we can mobilize staff. Additionally, our client will benefit from our multi-service approach that allows us to provide various types of deliverables simultaneously, in one package to help with the development process.

The different services we will provide for the project include boundary surveying, aerial LiDAR, utility locating, and utility coordination. We are using multiple survey crews and our advanced equipment, such as our fixed-wing aircraft, to ensure a fast and accurate product for the client to develop their solar array.

SAM has over 25 years of experience in the renewable industry. Visit our website to learn more about working with SAM’s professionals for your wind, solar, or battery storage project.
