July 14, 2022

SAM has been awarded a contract by a major electric power company to provide a range of geospatial services for a large solar project in the Southeast United States. SAM will conduct an ALTA boundary and topographic survey to facilitate the development of a 2,400-acre solar farm, which will have a 400MW capacity once completed.

“SAM is proud to support not only our client’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals, but also support a greener grid by helping to build and bring additional renewable electric generation online,” said Jason Caskey, Business Development Director, East Electric Market Lead.

Our crews will locate utilities and identify topographic features on the project site using conventional survey, global positioning system (GPS), and aerial LiDAR methods. SAM is employing our advanced equipment and technology, such as our proprietary application SAM VantageTM in addition to multiple survey crews to ensure a fast and accurate deliverable for the client to develop their solar array.

This project is part of SAM’s ongoing support for a key partner dedicated to renewable energy development across the country. Our partnership with this client is based on previous successful projects nationwide, our proven ability to mobilize staff quickly, and the benefits of our multi-service approach. Our team can provide various types of deliverables simultaneously, in one package, to help with the development process.
