Marc Damikolas

Marc Damikolas has over 25 years of experience leading professional service teams and businesses in the AEC industry. Marc’s background is in strategic business planning, organizational design, operations management, and business process improvement. As Chief Operating Officer, Marc provides operational leadership and resources to help execute company plans for sustained growth.

Marc earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the California Polytechnical University in Pomona, and a master’s in business administration from the University of California in Irvine. He is also a registered professional Civil Engineer in the state of California. Prior to joining SAM, Marc was the Chief Operating Officer of a 2000+ employee-owned engineering and construction firm. In this role, he was responsible for all aspects of company operations: creation and delivery of the annual company business plan, oversight of select strategic investments, involvement with key clients, and creating business trajectory for multi-year growth. In addition to numerous leadership roles, his engineering background includes the planning, design, management, and construction of water, wastewater, and other large infrastructure projects for both private and governmental clients.

Marc is passionate about designing organizational constructs, metrics, and incentives that combine with culture to motivate and further company alignment. His favorite SAM core value is People. He is a firm believer in the importance of culture, and that taking care of others is a cornerstone for any strong company. In his spare time, Marc enjoys mountain biking and hiking with his kids. He currently resides in California with his wife and three children.
