SAM has been awarded a 1-year contract with a major telecommunications company for outside plant design services in north Texas. Under this contract, SAM will provide outside plant management, planning, engineering, design, project coordination, as well as surveying and Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) services including vacuum excavation, and construction staking along 17 miles of an interstate highway.
SAM’S multi-service capabilities, and ability to deliver turnkey telecommunications solutions were key factors in the contract award. SAM will identify, locate, and coordinate the rerouting of buried, underground, aerial plant, and all other telecommunication utilities that may be obstructing a transportation construction project. Deliverables for the contract will include construction work prints for rerouting utilities in conflict with right-of-way adjustments, elevation adjustments, retaining wall placements, bridge improvements, and drainage and storm drain placements.
