Stan Hicks has over 40 years of experience providing a wide variety of professional services in the transportation industry, including heavy highway construction, highway design, utility design, subsurface utility engineering, utility coordination, as well as program management for transportation improvement programs in various Georgia counties. Projects of note include construction of the I-85/I-285 interchange (Spaghetti Junction) in Northeast Atlanta, and design of the I-75/I-285 interchange in Northwest Atlanta.

Before joining SAM, Stan was a director of business development and regional leader for another AEC firm, overseeing offices in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Currently, he is serving as the Office Manager for SAM’s Atlanta office, responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction throughout the region. Stan is a Registered Professional Engineer in Georgia and Florida and a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE), and served on the Planning Commission for the City of Johns Creek, Georgia.

Although all SAM’s core values are important, Stan’s favorite is Excellence in Service. He believes that the core values of community, integrity and ethics, and people are values that we bring to SAM in our daily lives. These values are internally focused. Quality and excellence in service are what we do for our clients to gain their confidence and becoming a trusted advisor. Through this approach, we grow our client base, our office, and the entire company. Stan is actively involved in his community through Johns Creek United Methodist Church and Habitat for Humanity. He is also a former youth soccer and basketball coach. His hobbies include golf, waterskiing, wakeboarding, wake surfing, and home renovation and remodeling. He and his wife Kathy reside in Johns Creek, Georgia. They have two adult children and one grandchild.
