Paul Brodin has more than 26 years of experience in engineering, construction, and environmental compliance.  He began his career in the oil & gas industry working primarily in West Texas, Houston, and Louisiana.  Since 2004, Paul has provided engineering and construction management services on transportation construction projects in the Austin, Dallas, and Houston markets. Paul is a Vice President and Associate and serves as the Houston CS Operations Manager.  His responsibilities include oversight of all Houston CS projects and personnel. He also supports business development efforts by writing proposals, participating in short list interviews, and developing relationships with existing and new clients as well as teaming partners.

Originally from Duluth, MN, Paul is a graduate of Michigan Technological University and a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas. His professional experience includes a wide variety of transportation projects ranging from $100 K to over $1.2 B in construction cost, including new roadway construction, existing roadway widening/reconstruction, and roadway maintenance. Paul has provided Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services on traditional design-bid-build projects, as well as Owner Verification Testing and Inspection (OVTI) services on design-build projects, while working with clients such as TxDOT and the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA).

Paul’s favorite SAM core values are Integrity and Ethics and People. He believes that these two core values go hand in hand, and that the keys to SAM’s success are our professionalism and ability to develop meaningful relationships with clients and co-workers. He resides in Cypress, TX with his wife of 18 years, their 12-year olds twins, and 3 cats, and is an avid runner and Minnesota/Houston sports fan.
