Mike Rice has over 42 years of experience primarily focused on Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE), Mike has more direct SUE program, project, and operations management experience than anyone else in the country. Over the past four decades he has gained extensive experience in managing a wide variety of utility related mapping, design, construction, attribute collection and asset management projects across the continental United States and in Hawaii.
Mike’s current responsibilities include operational planning, oversight, and quality management at the corporate, program, and project levels. He is actively involved in the development, testing and implementation of cutting-edge programs and supporting technologies which can produce the full spectrum of data required to support advanced 3D design modeling and the development of complex GIS data bases. Mike is also directly involved in the development of SAM’s training and certification programs for its SUE field staff. In addition, Mike is a U.S. Army veteran, member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and member of the Utility Engineering and Surveying Institute (UESI)
Mike’s favorite core value is Excellence in Service. He believes that SAM’s focus on quality and commitment to exceeding the expectations of our clients has been a hallmark of our success and will continue to drive us forward as the leader in our industry. His personal home base is San Antonio, TX.
