Matthew Reinhart, P.E., serves as SAM’s Mid-East Director of Transportation, leading transportation initiatives across Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky. In this role, Matthew provides strategic oversight and technical expertise to ensure the successful delivery of transportation projects throughout the region and nationwide.

With 17 years of civil engineering experience, Matthew brings a proven record of leadership in managing complex projects from survey through construction completion. He began his career in hydraulic design and has extensive experience coordinating with public, private, and government stakeholders to optimize schedules, avoid conflicts, and control costs. His expertise spans all four quality levels of Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE), and he has completed advanced training in electromagnetic locating instruments through Staking University, as well as UESI/BAMI Utility Investigation School. Matthew’s project portfolio includes major efforts such as the FRA-161-15.80 road widening in Ohio, the Blue Line in Indianapolis, and the Brent Spence Bridge in Kentucky.

Matthew holds INDOT Utility Coordinator Certification and is an active member of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Ohio, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Society of Highway Engineers, and the Engineers Club of Columbus. Outside of work, Matthew enjoys spending time with his family and exploring outdoor activities.
