Joseph Colvin joined SAM through the acquisition of JMC Professional Surveying and Mapping, LLC, in 2019. He serves as an Associate and Vice President of the Mid-South Area, where he provides strategic leadership to SAM’s Tennessee and Georgia offices.
Joseph graduated from Troy University in Alabama, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Geomatics. He continued his professional pursuits by obtaining Professional Land Surveyor licenses in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, and North Carolina. With over 20 years of experience in a variety of survey disciplines, he has managed surveying and data collection for numerous projects in various markets including, but not limited to, transportation, utilities, renewables, and commercial development. Joseph is a member of the Tennessee Association of Professional Surveyors, American Council of Engineering Companies, and various other professional networking groups.
Joseph’s favorite SAM core value is Community. He strongly believes in the importance of supporting his local community and helping those who are less fortunate. He is a tireless supporter of combatting food insecurity through food donations and volunteering to package and deliver food to seniors. He also assists his community through cleanup efforts and provides financial support to non-profit organizations such as Fish Pantries, Toys for Tots, and Wreaths Across America. Joseph resides in Tennessee with his wife and four children.
