John Denis has over 27 years of experience providing a variety of professional services to the Natural Gas and Energy industry. John is the Director of Natural Gas Utilities and the Natural Gas Utilities Central / West Market Leader for the company. His responsibilities include monitoring and assessing the Nations Natural Gas Utilities Market and assisting each of SAM’s business units to foster growth through business development. John also provides strategic leadership for the company and the Natural Gas Market by working with the executive management team to establish long-range goals, strategies, and financial plans to accomplish SAM’s strategic objectives.
John is an active and engaged industry leader. He currently sits on multiple boards: the Texas Energy Council Board of Directors, Texas Damage Prevention Board of Directors, San Antonio Pipeliners Board of Directors, and Chairs the Mid-Stream America Scholarship Fund. John is involved with many other industry organizations and sits on various committees supporting the industry, including the DPC, SGA, TGA, CGA and INGAA, to mention a few. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Project Management at Colorado Technical University in Colorado Springs, after enlisting in the U.S. Army. John’s professional experience spans a wide range of infrastructure and owner operator clients, successfully executing projects for oil and gas, energy, transportation, renewables, and utility companies.
John’s favorite SAM core value is People. He believes that people are the core element to SAM’s success and believes in mentoring and growing people to leverage their talents and make them shine. He has been married to his beautiful wife Kristi for 30 years and has two amazing children, Molly and David, a Grandson Luca, and son-in-law Jeffrey. He loves spending time in the outdoors, taking road trips with his wife, and fly fishing on their adventures.
