Gregory Schmidt joined SAM in 2005. He brings over 34 years of experience as a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (1986) and Licensed State Land Surveyor (2010) in Texas. Greg is experienced within the private and commercial land development, municipal, transportation, and electric transmission markets. His background in civil design gives him a more thorough understanding of client needs.
Greg attended the University of Texas and Austin Community College, testing the waters of various career paths before settling on land surveying and civil engineering. Most recently, he is applying his skills to foster growth in the federal market by collaborating with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the National Park Service, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, and numerous other agencies.
His favorite core value is Integrity and Ethics, and holds himself and others to the highest standards of care. He is deeply involved with mentoring those working towards getting their license in Texas and holds semi-annual study sessions with RPLS candidates in preparation of their licensing exam. A native Austinite and fifth-generation Texan, Greg quickly learned that his hometown fulfills his love for the Texas Hill Country and decided never to leave. In his spare time, Greg enjoys his hobbies of painting, fly-fishing, and hunting at the family ranch. He resides on the edge of the Hill Country just on the outskirts of Austin with his wife and two children.
