Dave Cole joined SAM with the acquisition of So-Deep and has over 28 years of combined experience, specializing in Subsurface Utility Engineering. He is both an Associate and Office Manager for SAM’s Columbus location. Dave’s responsibilities are primarily focused on providing strategic planning and leadership for the Columbus office to achieve performance objectives and sustained growth within the region.

Dave has been a licensed surveyor in Ohio since 1985, and has additional registrations with Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Illinois, and North Carolina. He is a member of ASHE, ACEC, ASCE, and WTS. He is particularly active in the transportation market. Dave’s experience includes large scale boundary and mine surveying. He has worked extensively throughout the country in SUE. Notable projects include Fort Washington Way in Cincinnati, I-280 Maumee River crossing in Toledo, I-280 Hillside strangler in Chicago, IL 159 through Collinsville, The Alaskan Way Viaduct in Seattle, I-76 and North Main Street in Akron, the Cleveland Innerbelt along with Opportunity Corridor. He provided sales, scheduling, project management, professional review, and customer service on hundreds of projects. He has led numerous DOT contracts and was responsible for consecutive ODOT District 12 SUE contracts from 1997 through his relocation to the NOVA Office in 2017.

Dave’s MBA program was centered on quality and held Excellence in Service as a core value for much of his career. Today his role is driven by the People within the organization. He spends his free time with his children and grandchildren, socializing with friends, playing golf, as well as following high school and OSU sports. He has numerous excursions to Florida and elsewhere planned in the future. Dave currently resides in Columbus and is building a house in New Philadelphia, Ohio.
