Amanda’s visionary leadership, unique approach to incorporating innovative solutions, and near thirty-year career in the Geomatics industry make her ideally suited to continue SAM’s rapid expansion and development nationwide as the Director of Organic Growth. She works to ensure our success by driving operational, strategic, and financial objectives, as well as collaborating with SAM’s leadership team.

In her previous position as Geomatics Department Manager, Amanda helped implement tactical plans, organize program management teams, lead opportunity pursuits, and mentor SAM’s team members. Her experience coordinating large-scale projects in multiple markets, managing technical staff, and providing expert testimony enabled SAM to tackle even the most complex challenges with confidence and precision.

Deeply active in the Geospatial community, Amanda the former President of the National Society of Professional Land Surveyors (2022) and a representative for the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), is helping to steer the profession globally to ensure its importance is both utilized and understood. As the former owner and leader of her own surveying firm, Amanda is attuned to the industry at the local, regional, and national level.

Her contributions to the field have earned her prestigious accolades such as a “Top 40 Under 40 Remarkable Geospatial Professionals” in 2016. She is an alumna of both New Mexico State University and the University of Alaska Anchorage and will continue her passion for supporting higher education in our geospatial community. She is also licensed in seven states, including Alaska, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Oregon, and Nevada.

Amanda’s favorite core value is integrity. Doing the right thing regardless of whether anyone knows is a principle that was ingrained in her from childhood onward. The people she been able to meet and work with at SAM exemplify this value and always strive to be honest in both their personal and professional lives. Further, it also means delivering the best quality products on time and passing on opportunities when you know you cannot deliver.
