Two New Professionals Join SAM, Inc. Geospatial Services Team

Thomas Mahon, LS

 

Tom Mahon has joined SAM, Inc. as Assistant Operations Manager for the Geospatial Team. He has more than 25 years of experience in project management for the engineering and geospatial industries, with extensive experience in the management of LiDAR projects, as well as conventional surveying projects. Tom was a group manager with Woolpert, Inc. for 13 years, where he led a team of surveyors, photogrammetrists, and LiDAR specialists located in five offices and dispersed over three states. He also headed their mobile mapping team.

Tom has project experience with a wide variety of clients and industries, including corridor mapping for transportation and energy clients, and large scale asset inventory projects for utility, municipal, and higher education clients. Tom has both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Civil Engineering, with concentrations in Surveying. He is a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in Indiana and New York, and a Licensed Professional Engineer in New York.

Tom will help the SAM, Inc. Geospatial Team continue to deliver large scale projects efficiently, maintain high quality product standards, ensure operational productivity, and develop new market opportunities.

Peggy Cobb

Peggy Cobb

Peggy Cobb has joined the firm as Geospatial Production Manager. She has 12 years of experience as a project manager and production manager on geospatial projects. Most recently she was with TerraPoint/GeoDigital in Houston, Texas. Peggy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and GIS from Sam Houston State University. She has extensive familiarity with managing data acquisition and data processing for airborne, mobile and terrestrial LiDAR projects. Her experience includes supervision of a large geospatial team, training and staff development, and operations management.
