SAM, Inc. Surveyor Featured on ACSM Web Radio Program

Patrick A. Smith, RPLS and senior staff with SAM, Inc., was recently featured in an extended interview on a weekly radio program sponsored by the American Congress of Surveying and Mapping (ACSM). During the “ACSM Radio Hour” program Pat discussed the impacts of laser scanning technology on the practice of surveying, including terrestrial, mobile and airborne solutions. Topics covered included a discussion of the different types of LiDAR methods and their merits, evolving new applications for scanning technology, the business implications of using new technologies for surveying operations, and other related issues. The interview was conducted by program host Curt Sumner, also the Executive Director of ACSM.

In addition to his role with SAM, Inc., Pat serves as chairman of the Board of Governors for the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS), a member organization of ACSM. He has over 35 years experience in land surveying, including extensive familiarity with current data collection technology solutions for the surveying profession.
