SAM awarded Kiewit Safety Crew of the Month in Niles, Michigan

SAM is proud to announce that three surveyors working at the Indeck Niles Energy Center in Niles, Michigan were recognized as the Safety Crew of the Month by Kiewit Power Constructors for July 2020. The crew, based out of SAM’s St. Louis and Chicago Offices, includes Philip de Klerk, Samuel Watson, and Lance Hixon. SAM is providing a variety of surveying services for Kiewit Power Constructors, a nationwide EPC leader, and Indeck Energy Services, a leading developer of conventional and alternative fuel power plants worldwide. SAM’s services include high accuracy control, design surveying and mapping, construction monitoring using UAS, construction layout services, construction as-built surveys, and Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC). Currently, the SAM crew supplies construction surveying for over 200 professionals at the Indeck Niles Energy Center construction.

The Kiewit Safety Department recognized the SAM crew for diligently following the safety procedures in place and for being incident free since the start of the project in 2019.

While on the project site, SAM meets industry safety standards by completing Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Job Site Analysis (JSA) forms and attending site-specific safety meetings on a daily basis.
