SAM Awarded GIS Services Contract with City of Beeville, TX

September 8, 2020

With the recent acquisition of Midland GIS Solutions (July 2020), SAM significantly expanded its services. Now, SAM has been awarded its first contract to perform Global Positioning System (GPS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping and asset management since the acquisition. The contract is with the City of Beeville, TX and SAM services will include geodatabase design and development, asset management and analysis, and facilities management GIS.

The work is a renewable, one-year contract to establish and support a web-based, Esri asset management application of the water distribution network. The City of Beeville selected SAM for its all-in-one GIS service offerings that combine data collection, processing, and integration into asset management software. SAM will develop an accurate and complete GIS application for maintaining and managing the city’s water infrastructure assets. SAM will collect attribute and inventory data on the water distribution network and build it into Integrity™, a web-based, GIS map and asset management application, hosted by SAM. Once completed, the city will be able to access, view, analyze, and maintain their GIS data from any device for future field navigation and capital improvement projects.

With the acquisition of Midland GIS, SAM expanded its both its geographic footprint and GIS services, including unique offerings such as GIS hosting that will complement SAM’s existing GIS business. The combination of SAM’s extensive geospatial and construction services capabilities with Midland’s significant GIS expertise will provide expanded opportunities and solutions for clients in multiple markets.

“We are very excited to be working on this project for the City of Beeville,” said Kirk Larson, SAM’s Maryville Office Manager. “The combination of knowledge, deep experience, and resources available for GIS mapping and asset management give our clients better and faster results that they can utilize, access, and maintain immediately.”
