SAM 2021 Summer Internship Ends, Scholarship Recipient Announced

September 15, 2021

As students head back to school for their fall semesters, we are grateful for the interns that took part in our SAM Companies 2021 Summer Internship Program. We are also pleased to announce our 2021 Summer Internship Scholarship recipient, Domanique Williams.

Since 2012, the SAM Summer Internship Program has offered students the opportunity to learn and use the most advanced and innovative technology in the geospatial and construction services industry. We are proud to have had 14 talented students work with us this summer, during our 10th anniversary of the program.

Spread across nine locations, our interns worked on real-life projects in the field and in the office in our Aerial Mapping, Survey, Utility Engineering, and Construction Services departments. From June to August, each SAM intern received mentorship from an industry leading expert on staff while also acquiring hands-on training using our advanced technology. The interns not only gained experience that will make them more marketable when they graduate, but they expanded their professional networks in the industry.

The capstone of the 2021 Internship was a presentation given to SAM Executives and other team leaders on one key topic with the best presentation receiving a scholarship. All of the interns formally presented to the Executive Management team: SAM CEO and President, Chris Solomon, COO, Rob Butler, Executive Vice Presidents, Gregory McKnight and Brett Smith, CTO, Adam Long, Learning and Development Manager, Matthew Foster, and Senior Corporate Recruiter, Lindsay Fraley. We are excited to congratulate Ms. Williams, a senior at the University of Texas at Austin, for winning this year’s Summer Internship Scholarship.

Thank you to the SAM Companies 2021 Class of Interns.
