Patrick A. Smith, RPLS and part of the SAM, Inc. senior staff in Austin, was recently elected as the 2012-2013 Vice President of the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS). Pat has been active with stewardship activities in our profession for many years and has also served as chairman of the Board of Governors for the NSPS, a member organization of the American Congress of Surveying and Mapping (ASCM) and is a Past President of the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors (TSPS). He has more than 40 years of experience in land surveying, including extensive familiarity with the latest technology solutions utilized in our profession. He is also thoroughly familiar with the business practices, legal issues, and legislative challenges related to our industry.
