Introducing Amanda Allred, PLS: A Visionary Leader and Accomplished Professional Joins SAM’s Leadership

We are pleased to announce that Amanda Allred, a distinguished Professional Land Surveyor (PLS), has joined SAM Companies as a Geomatics Department Manager. Based out of our Salt Lake City, Utah office, Ms. Allred brings an exceptional track record of accomplishments and leadership.

With 26 years of experience, Ms. Allred’s journey in the geomatics profession has been nothing short of distinguished.

Having served as the President of the National Society of Professional Land Surveyors (NSPS) in 2022, Ms. Allred effectively shaped the industry’s direction and fostered professional collaboration. As a Commission 7 Representative for the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), she works to steer our profession globally. She is licensed in seven states, including Alaska, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Oregon, and Nevada. She previously served as the District Land Surveyor for the Walla Walla District of the US Army Corps of Engineers, worked for the Alaska Department of Transportation, and owned and operated her own firm in New Mexico.

As the Geomatics Department Manager, Ms. Allred will implement tactical plans to drive operational and financial performance, organize and support our program management teams, lead opportunity pursuits, and mentor SAM team members. Her experience coordinating large-scale projects in multiple markets, managing technical and professional staff, and providing expert testimony will enable us to tackle even the most complex challenges confidently and precisely.

Her contributions to the field have been recognized by her peers, earning her accolades such as being featured as one of the “Top 40 Under 40 Remarkable Geospatial Professionals” in 2016 and her role as a representative to the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG). Ms. Allred is an alumna of both New Mexico State University and the University of Alaska and will continue her passion for supporting higher education in our geospatial community.
