Cody Conwell serves as Deputy General Counsel for SAM, a private equity-backed, nationwide provider of geospatial services. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer & General Counsel, he oversees all legal affairs of the company and serves as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on legal, regulatory, and business matters. He partners closely with leaders throughout the organization to support SAM’s strategic objectives, facilitate growth, and effectively manage legal and business risk across the company’s nationwide operations.
Prior to joining SAM, Cody practiced corporate law at Latham & Watkins LLP in Austin, Texas, where he represented public and private companies, private equity sponsors, strategic investors, and emerging companies in mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financings, corporate governance, commercial transactions, and other complex business matters. Before joining Latham, he practiced at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP in New York, NY. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School, a Master of Arts in Economics from Boston University, and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Florida Gulf Coast University. Cody is admitted to practice law in Texas and New York.

Outside of work, Cody enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and staying active through running, swimming, kayaking, and other outdoor activities.
