Phillip Jones is VP Architecture and Solutions for the Digital and Data Services (DDS) group at SAM, providing strategic leadership in key application, data, integration & systems architecture for electric utility clients.
With more than 37 years of experience as an electrical engineer and information systems architect, Phillip brings deep expertise across the electricity transmission and distribution industry, with a strong focus on ‘digital twin’ lifecycle management (asset and network model management), network operations, metering, and enterprise information management.
Phillip has led complex initiatives for major utilities and technology organizations, including Ameren, Long Island Power Authority (PSEG-LI), JEA, Sempra Energy, and Oracle. His experience includes information and integration architecture, data modeling, analytics, and standards-based solutions leveraging the IEC Common Information Model (CIM) and IEC TC57 standards to support reliable, scalable utility operations.
Phillip holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and is a member of IEC TC57 Working Group 14. His favorite SAM core value is Excellence in Service, reflecting his commitment to delivering high-quality, well-architected solutions that create long-term value for clients.
