John Hannel has over 30 years of experience providing a variety of professional services and critical data to utility owners and operators. Throughout his career he has led many critical data driven programs for the largest utilities in the Country. With SAM, John is the East Region Service Lead for Damage Prevention Services, within our Utilities Market. He is a damage prevention subject matter expert (SME), focused on expanding company growth and quality services for our utility clients.
John is an Indiana University Hoosier. He earned his GIS Professional Certification in 2002, making him one of the first 1,000 people in the world to obtain this professional certification (GISP). He received his Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification in 2012.
John appreciates all of SAM’s core values and has strived to exercise each of them throughout his career. His favorite core value is Integrity and Ethics. SAM’s ability to bring these values to our clients develops long-term trusting relationships and exceptional service solutions for clients. John and his wife Kim and two sons reside in greater Indianapolis, IN. He enjoys golf and boating activities in his spare time. Volunteering in community causes and spending time with friends and extended family fills the rest of his time.
