Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) has again been ranked by Engineering News Record (ENR) as a top engineering design firm. For 2017 SAM ranked number 134 out of the 500 companies on the annual ENR list of Top Design Firms. SAM also ranked number 100 among the Top 100 Pure Designers in 2017, a category for companies not engaged in construction. In rankings by market sector, SAM ranked number 8 in services for Petroleum Maintenance and number 18 for Pipelines.
This is the sixth time that SAM has appeared on the list and we are pleased to be among the top companies recognized by ENR for 2017. The highly regarded ranking is published annually and profiles leading firms based on revenue. More detailed information categorized by geographic region and market sector is typically released by ENR in the weeks following national rankings.
In data later published by ENR, SAM also ranked well in several specific geographic regions and market categories. For the Midwest region in 2017, SAM ranked 80 overall among 110 firms, with a revenue of $13.1 million in the region. The ENR Midwest region includes the states of Kansas, Kentucky, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Nebraska, and Wisconsin. For the Colorado/Wyoming region SAM ranked 53 out of 60 firms, based on revenue of $3.7M. For the Texas/Louisiana region SAM ranked 28 out of 107 firms, based on revenue of $62.3M. The company also ranked number 9 in revenue for the Petroleum market sector in Texas/Louisiana.
