Clay Harris RPLS, PLS

Clay Harris has over 23 years of extensive experience delivering multidisciplinary professional services in the AEC industry. Located in the Austin Office, he is a Vice President and Central Region Manager. His responsibilities include assisting the CEO and COO to expand company growth through business development, as well as providing strategic leadership for the company by working with the Board of Directors and executive management team to establish long-range goals, strategies, financial plans, and policies to accomplish the objectives of SAM Companies.

Clay’s professional experience spans a wide range of public and private sector clients, successfully delivering projects for oil and gas, electric transmission, transportation, and utility companies. Clay is a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in Texas and Washington and is a member of several industry associations including American Congress on Surveying and Mapping (ACSM), Texas Society of Professional Land Surveyors (TSPS), Land Surveyors Association of Washington (LSAW), Professional Land Surveyors of Oregon (PLSO), International Right-of-Way Association (IRWA), and American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS).

Clay’s favorite SAM core value is Excellence in Service. He believes that SAM’s ability to leverage the exceptional targeted knowledge, strength, and diversity of our entire organization as a trusted advisor results in a long-term relationship that goes beyond our core subject matter expertise into being a partner in helping deliver the client’s personal and institutional agenda. He is actively involved in his community through his work in the National MS Society’s Bike MS program. He currently resides in Texas with his wife.
