SAM Opens New Office in Kansas City, Kansas

Surveying And Mapping, LLC is pleased to announce a further geographic expansion with the opening of a new full service office in Kansas City, Kansas. This new location expands our ability to offer a complete range of geospatial solutions in the Midwestern U.S., including for professional land surveying, hydrographic surveying, airborne, mobile and terrestrial LiDAR scanning, digital aerial mapping, subsurface utility engineering, geographic information system (GIS) services, and construction phase services.

SAM is one of the largest geospatial firms in North America and Kansas City is the company’s tenth office. The firm has experienced exceptional growth over the last few years and is currently ranked 97 among the Engineering News Record 2014 Top 500 Design Firms.

Scott PerkinsScott Perkins, GISP, has joined our new Kansas City office and will be responsible for leading our federal business portfolio. Scott has more than 33 years of industry experience. Most recently he was a geospatial business owner, successfully growing and then selling his firm to an ENR Top 200 ranked company and joining as an Officer and Associate Vice President.

Scott has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and an Associate’s Degree in Photogrammetry. He is a Certified GIS Professional (GISP) and is an active member of several professional societies and committees, receiving federal appointments to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration – Hydrographic Services Review Panel (NOAA – HSRP) Federal Advisory Committee and chairing the Small Business Administration (SBA) Regulatory Fairness Board for Region VII, both of which required White House approval. His experience with the SBA provided him with a thorough understanding of the challenges small businesses face.

He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Management Association for Private Photogrammetric Surveyors (MAPPS) and as Treasurer of the American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) Central US Region, receiving a Presidential Citation for Service from each organization. Additionally, he was elected Assistant Chair of the ASPRS Photogrammetric Applications Division (PAD) in 2014.

Scott’s expertise, insight and leadership will further SAM’s ability to provide clients with a variety of geospatial disciplines united by one goal — success. Through utilization of a multi-platform approach, SAM provides clients a single, trusted source for integrated services.
