Nick Kules provides technical leadership for SAM’s Aerial Business Unit, overseeing remote sensing workflows, operational planning for software and hardware deployments, and the evaluation of new and emerging technologies. In this role, he helps guide the strategic and technical direction of SAM’s aerial and remote sensing initiatives.
With more than 15 years of experience in the remote sensing and geospatial industry, Nick brings a strong background in geospatial technologies and solutions. He has developed deep expertise in specialized technologies including topo-bathymetric lidar, cloud-based geospatial systems, and applied geospatial AI/ML. Nick has supported a wide range of public and private sector clients, including federal agencies such as the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), NOAA, U.S. Forest Service (USFS), and Bureau of Land Management (BLM), as well as numerous state and local agencies across the Pacific Northwest and Gulf Southeast regions. He is an active member of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS), currently serving as President of the Florida ASPRS Region, and participates in several national technical working groups.

Outside of work, Nick is an avid world traveler and cruise enthusiast.
