Mitchell Long has over 34 years of experience acquiring and providing geospatial data to a wide variety of clients. Mitchell is SAM’s federal market lead, where his responsibilities include planning, positioning, and the capture of federal contracts. He also supports advocacy efforts to increase federal geospatial funding and monitoring, as well as managing relationships with federal agencies and personnel to expand SAM’s federal influence and overall sales.

Mitchell is a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in Kentucky (PLS), Certified Photogrammetrist (CP), and a Certified GIS Professional (GISP). He is a member of several industry associations, including Management Association for Private Photogrammetric Surveyors (MAPPS), U.S. Geospatial Executives Organization (USGEO), National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS), and Kentucky Association of Professional Surveyors (KAPS). Mitchell’s professional geospatial experience spans a wide range of federal clients, successfully executing projects for USACE, USDA, NOAA, FHWA, USGS, US Army, BIA, AGC, and FAA.

Mitchell’s favorite core value is Integrity and Ethics, and he believes it is cornerstone for building long-term client relationships that develop into friendships. He is a longtime supporter of Habitat for Humanity and resides in Lexington, KY where you can find him woodworking, shooting, or sampling the local bourbon.
