TxDOT U.S. 290 Program, Houston District Project

Utility Coordination

SAM-CS was selected to lead a team providing Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services for nine separate segments of this corridor. With a construction cost of $1.2 billion, and a duration of more than three years, the SAM-CS team is providing inspection of multiple bridges, retaining walls, earthwork and drainage systems, as well as concrete and hot mix asphalt paving. Additionally, we are providing management of traffic control, environmental compliance, storm water pollution, utility coordination and construction scheduling support. SAM-CS has created a single dashboard with SAM’s web-based software that allows automated workflows to efficiently control daily construction activities, document work progress, and verify compliance with State and Federal requirements, while at the same time providing direct access to TxDOT and pertinent stakeholders in a real-time, cloud-based system. This system enables improved communication and coordination between all stakeholders on the project.

SAM-CS was able to quickly deploy numerous engineers, construction inspectors, materials testing technicians, and other project support staff for the project. Our ability to quickly ramp up to meet the needs of the client is part of what sets SAM-CS apart from other firms. We also bring a strong commitment to training and certifying staff, with an inspection staff that is versatile and capable of inspecting and testing all construction activities.
